Modo is what happens when a century-old Granville Street building meets a smarter way to travel. Heritage in the bones, modern where it matters, and Vancouver right outside the door.
We built Modo around one idea: a room doesn’t need to be big to be great.
Modo’s rooms are compact by design. We kept what matters, made smart use of every square foot, and left out the things you probably wouldn’t miss anyway.
What you do get is a proper bed, a great shower, thoughtful details and everything you need to settle in. What you don’t get is unnecessary space for the sake of it.
Because the best part of staying here isn’t really in the room. It’s the coffee, restaurants, bars, theatres, seawall and neighbourhood waiting outside.

Every square foot has a job. Smart layouts, useful details and no space simply for the sake of space.
The original wood, old walls and quirks stay where they can. More than a century of character is hard to manufacture.
Granville is just outside. Coffee, restaurants, live music, nightlife and the waterfront are already part of your stay.
A 24-hour front desk staffed by people who know the neighbourhood and where they’d actually send you.

A 1912 building that's lived several lives before this one.
More than a century before Hotel Modo, 1125 Granville was already part of the story of this street. Designed by prolific Vancouver architects Parr & Fee, the Edwardian-era building has stood through generations of change as Granville grew into the city’s entertainment district, alive with theatres, neon marquees, restaurants, hotels and late nights.
The neighbourhood has changed plenty since then. The building, thankfully, stuck around.

1125 Granville takes its place on the street, designed by Vancouver architects Parr & Fee.
Granville becomes downtown Vancouver’s entertainment spine, lined with theatres, hotels, restaurants, marquees and neon.
Rather than erase what was here, the building is carefully restored, preserving its original character while preparing it for an entirely new chapter.
Hotel Modo opens as the younger brother to longtime Vancouver sister property Moda Hotel. Both buildings were designed by Parr & Fee more than a century ago. When it came time to name the newest member of the family, Modo felt like the natural choice.
